Question by rufio: is a mountain bike or road bike better for a city winter?

for a city like boston where the streets are ussually clear but there is the occasional ice, would a road bike or mountain bike be better for the winter?
ive heard road bikes are better because they cut through snow, but mountain bikes have better traction.
imput? suggestions?

My guess is that whichever one has the more aggressive tread pattern would be the better choice.

My GT LTS3 mountain bike have dents and scratches. How can i repair / fix it?

i was thinking about sanding it first, than touch up with the black paint which is the color of the bike.

Question by : What properties does a mountain bike frame need? (Physics coursework)?

I am doing my physics coursework and I am comparing two materials that are commonly used to make mountain bike frames. I could really do with some help…be it websites with some information or knowledge from yourself about good materials to compare and the properties that are needed in the frame of a mountain bike.

It needs to be lightweight and strong. Something that won’t break or bend when running hard through mountain trails.
